Luca Armbruster Sets German Record to Reach World Championships Final
Singapore – At the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore, Luca Nik Armbruster made a strong impact in the 50m butterfly. The 23-year-old from SG Neukölln narrowly advanced from the heats to the semifinals, where he improved his time to 22.91 seconds, setting a new German record and qualifying seventh fastest for the final.
In the final, Armbruster lowered his own record again to 22.84 seconds, finishing sixth and tying with Dutch swimmer Nyls Korstanje. Gold went to France’s Maxime Grousset (22.48), silver to Switzerland’s Noè Ponti (22.51, national record), and bronze to Italy’s Thomas Ceccon (22.67).
Armbruster achieved his record-breaking performances wearing the Aquafeel Speedblue Racecap and Aquafeel Speedblue swimming goggles – marking a successful World Championships debut for the brand at the highest international level.
